Star Wars Weekends

It is that time of the year again for the annual Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando. 

I love Star Wars and I love Disney so it was a no-brainer for us to go on opening weekend.  We got there around 10:30a, just in time to line up to see the parade complete with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy dressed in Star Wars costumes.  Of course, there were also Storm Troopers, Darth Vader as well as other Star Wars characters.

The coolest thing about thematic parties of weekends at Disney it that everything is done so darn well.  Of course, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chip & Dale and Goofy were in costume and were stationed through the park for autographs.

There’s a ton of Star Wars Weekends merchandise in the Darth Mall.

One of the most unique items are the Darth Vader cupcake and Yoda cupcake.  The Darth Vader cupcake is chocolate with a little peanut butter in the topping.  The Yoda cupcake is chocolate with a rich hazelnut buttercream frosting and sprinkle of crunchy chocolate-toffee.  You can find the Darth Vader cupcake and the Yoda cupcake at Starring Rolls Cafe, ABC Commissary, Backlot Express and Darth’s Mall. Both cupcakes are $5.19 and are part of the Disney Dining Plan.

The Force drink was delicious and came with it’s own light saber.  It is made with Grey Goose vodka and wildberry lemonade.  It was a bit on the sweet side so if you don’t like sweet drinks you’ll probably want to pass on this one.

The weather was perfect today in Orlando and the crowds were manageable so it was another fantastic day at Disney.
