Grand Floridian

Last year Walt Disney World’s flagship resort, The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (lovingly referred to by Disney Cast Members as The Red Roof Inn), underwent a renovation. Updates were made to its standard guest rooms. Today we’re going to take a detailed look into how this iconic hotel went from dated floral to polished and refined.

This double queen guest room is located in the Big Pine Key section of the resort property. The building has rooms facing the main pool and courtyard as well as rooms looking out over the Seven Seas Lagoon and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

The entryway to the room has been outfitted with dark hardwood flooring. This carries through into the bathroom where you will find his and hers sinks and marble counter tops. Disney’s signature H2O toiletries await guests and unlike Disney’s value and moderate resorts, there is a hamper to deposit used bath towels in. The bathroom wall is accented with an “Alice in Wonderland” print and you will find the resort’s logo embossed on the toilet paper.

A work space has been tucked into the corner of the room. The dark wood desk and office chair is accented with a lovely soft blue tone and if you look closely you can spot a hidden Mickey in the embroidery.
