One of the best places for happy hour in Orlando is Eddie V’s.  They recently rolled out a new menu that is not only delicious, but also reasonably priced.  Eddie V’s might not be the first place you think of when you think of happy hour in Orlando, but you really need to check it out.  I recently had the opportunity to try it out with Christina at GoEpicurista and Lisa from Taste, Cook, Sip.  I started out the evening with one of their signature cocktails, the Bulleit Sour.  The Bullet Sour is made with Bulleit Bourbon, honey, fresh lemon and lime sour mix.  I love bourbon so this drink was close to perfect.

They have a lot of variety on their happy menu so we decided to have dinner in the bar.  We started out with Beef Banh Mi which was one of my favorite things on the menu.  The Beef Banh Mi consists of a Marinated Filet with Pickled Cucumbers and Stir-Fried Vegetables.  This paired perfectly with my bourbon cocktail.  Two come to an order and I probably could have eaten several more of these. The cost is $8 for two.

Another one of my favorite items was the Lollipop Lamb Chops.  These are Single Cut and Dry Rubbed with Morels and Fig Glaze.  They were absolutely delicious.  They were very tender and the rub was simply amazing.  These come three to an order for a cost of $7.

The other ‘not miss’ items on their happy hour menu are the oysters.  They have invested a lot of time in finding the best of the best when it comes to oysters.  They have east coast and west coast oysters on the half shell as well as Crispy Oysters (Thai curry seasoned with pickled cucumbers), Carpetbagger (fried oysters and seared tenderloin with blue cheese) and Angels on Horseback (seared oysters wrapped in proscuitto with fig glaze and parmesan).

We also tried the Lobster & Crab Wonton and Blackened Fish Tacos.  The Lobster & Crab Wonton is served crisp with a spicy red pepper jelly.  The Blackened Fish Tacos are house-made tortillas with micro greens and roasted corn pico with the fish of the day, which was swordfish on the day we went.

In addition to the wonderful food, they also have a band playing nightly.  On the night we were there, it was a jazz band.

If you’re looking for an upscale happy hour with signature cocktails and excellent food, you need to make your way to Eddie V’s at 7488 West Sand Lake Rd.  Happy runs daily from 4p – 7p.
